Lost Shoes

Olivia one of our business directors lost both her left shoe and her right shoe while demonstrating her moonwalk at Campaign Photo last night. They are red and expensive is all she can tell us. If anyone has them please let us know. She is having to wear espadrilles in the meantime.

On a happier note I hear that we were finalists in a couple of categories with work from Dan Pothecary for China’s Stolen Children, Tim Simmons for Lost for Words and Dean Rogers for Red Riding. We won in Media & Entertainment for the Skins 2 campaign by Simen Johan working with Alice.
Who is now on her way to Bestival and probably is blissfully unaware. Nice one Alice, see you there.

Joseph is back from skidoo-land. He has fractured his entire ear – the footage of the crash though is amazing. Will try to get him to post it here.

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading.
The Intern (hopefully not for long)

P.S. People are stealing my ideas.
Joseph fractured his toe

SKINS 2 WON THE MEDIA & ENTERTAINMENT CATEGORY! Yeah!

4Creative at Bestival

NEARLY FORGOT! !

How COOL is this? We are ALL going to be working from Bestival this weekend. Brett just said what the F&*$ yesterday (he actually said it like that – it sounded totally weird) pack your sleeping bags we’re all going.

So if you see a bunch of directors and writers and producers hanging out in an old Airstream caravan (it has an old mikebeer stencil on the side) come and say hello. Best Job Ever.

I will mainly be in charge of fetching drinks. But hey, I’m not complaining.

Ed has asked that we bring a portable shower. More from Bestival later! Woohooooo!

Derren Brown in Metro

Salut,
Well, I’ve never been as excited to pick up a copy of Metro before. See the little crossword gag at the back of today’s copy? This is my first published bit of work. I helped Leo and Emily (creatives, young clever, good with words and pictures and that kind of thing) on all the clues and the hardest ones I think you’ll find are mine. Legerdemain will be my finest moment in print so far – if this makes no sense, check the questions..!

Also check out Alice’s teaser promo for the lottery show. It’s weird and who would have thought Derren was such a good juggler.

More work going on for promotion of 3D season and yesterday we all had to wear the glasses. One person who shall remain nameless was sick – seemingly unable to deal with the world in 3D. The ads look like they could be cool and I am in the middle of watching every weird and wonderful 3D movie I can get my hands on. All in the name of research of course.

Watch this space for more developments on that front.

Joseph is on holiday skidoo racing on a glacier.

Until the next time.

Photographers and Fish

Friday lunch means fish and chips with Ed Webster, Off Air Producer at 4creative.
Hello Ed if you are reading this! And thanks for shouting me those sachets of tartare sauce.
True gent. Ed used to play for Arsenal Youth.

We discuss advertising and photography. Ed takes me to his office and shows me a mountain of portfolios. If I see another shot of a car in an empty american parking lot I will take my own life. Do they all copy each others work?

Seriously though, there was some amazing stuff there and I have been invited to sit in on the next photog meeting/briefing. Ed tells me stories of Jim Fiscus who has shot a lot of work for 4 Creative. Wonder how I can get on one of his shoots.

Was asked to be a part of softball team for match (game?) next week. How do you play soft ball anyway? And what the hell is cous cous?

Have a cool weekend. I will be in on bank holiday monday sorting out some awards entry packages for The Campaign Bigs (?) which it looks like we have some work in. I will mainly be the one sticking pictures to polyboard and putting stickers on the back.

Happy days!

Aloha

Welcome to the blog for this day: Thursday 27 August 2009

Observations for today:

I have been busy cutting out covers for the house reel. I have also been charged with sending them out to everyone who’s asking for one. Kevin, who designed the whole look, is worried that his perfect work will get creased in the post and not look as good as it could. We search for good ways of packaging that are also eco friendly.

This, alone, could be a full time job. One of the reels we are sending out is going to a man in Belgium called Balthazar who runs a hunting lodge. Could there be potential business there? Hmmm… Maybe he’s just a friend of the management. Continue reading →

New “blog” entry

It is difficult to know if anyone is reading this, but if anyone is, hello.

I haven’t worked out how to tell yet.

Some general things to note:

Spotted Steve Henry in here the other day taking a meeting. I’ll be keeping a tally of the interesting types that I spot in here, so watch this space. Continue reading →

New Blog Entry after trouble on Derren Brown shoot

Hello and apologies for the lack of “blog” entries. They said that I’d never keep it up and they were right.

I was going to blame it on Derren – last week we were shooting the man himself for his brand new show called The Events. I had a story ready about him having erased my mind and therefore all my blog ideas. It might have worked too, but Derren advised me that it would be wrong to lie, so I’m going with that. 4Creative Summer Party!

So we had the 4Creative Summer party on Thursday 23rd July and it was excellent fun. Who would have thought there was such a massive area at the back of that record shop on Poland Street.

The whole place was done up like a huge garden, with DJs in the shed and wheelbarrows full of beer. The atmosphere was brilliant and loads of people with vintage jeans and hard-to-find trainers came and had a ball. I spotted one guy with shoes so pointed they had corks on the end for safety. Hello world!

Hello!
This will be the very first “Blog” entry into the 4Creative site – so here goes.
As 4C’s only intern I have been charged with managing these entries so if things get too busy in the office apologies in advance if gaps start appearing!
Anyway, having just graduated from St Martin’s this summer and armed with nothing but a portfolio and some magic markers, a few ideas and my trusty Final Cut Pro, I am looking very much forward to getting stuck in. By the way, I have Ed Webster of 4Creative to thank for me being here at all. He saw my final show (Infinity/Nothingness) by chance liked the photography (Noel Edmonds appears over 10,000 times in one piece – this is actually true) and got me in for a stint.
Who knows what might have happened if I hadn’t chosen Noel.

I will be trying to draw it out for as long as possible Continue reading →
