I have arrived in Mumbai and have been separated from the main production team. It is very exciting and yet slightly daunting.
Will post shots when I can. Ed/Molly/Leo/Emily, if you are reading this can you call me on my UK mobile please as a matter of urgency.

INDIA!
I am on set with Emily and Leo and Ed shooting for India Season on Channel. We are in a secret location with some C4 celebrities and a whole load of animals. We fly on to India tomorrow with the whole crew and I just feel lucky to have been asked along. What a year so far.
It’s tough, but Gordon Ramsay has been hilarious and this afternoon he showed me how to slice veg up really quickly like on telly.
I was out with Tony Cullingham, Watford’s Advertising Jedi Master and Liz Harold (she’s the Uber creative recruitment consultant who helped me find my placement here after my St Martin’s show) on Friday. Liz and Tony told me lots about what I needed to do to progress from Intern to something more serious. It seems they actually read my blog. HELLO!
Richard Burdett was also there and talked at some length about a new campaign he had come up with for Horse and Country channel. The line went something like: If it dies, it’s in. Thanks for the invaluable advice. I liked particularly the bit about never returning to the office after a drunken lunch.
Jon Snow just arrived on set. I had better go.
That’s all for now! See you in Mumbai!!!

A PASSAGE TO INDIA
Hello. I am back. I have spent the last few weeks in a sanitorium in Edmonton where doctors treated my guppy-like eye. The Channel 4 3D spectacles that went out in Sainsbury branches last week are only safe because of my work. I have only just returned to normal and it has been a hell of a journey. I hear 3D season has been fun though – Joseph the art director assures me that the TV spots and point of sale looked cool.
Onwards to India. This is the real point of getting writing again. We are in the middle of preparing to shoot in India for the Channel’s India season. I have been helping Phil (the Director) and Emily and Leo (creative team for press and poster) with mood boards and references and now I find myself on the team that is headed out to the location.
It’s all quite exciting. And yet daunting as I have only just regained my sight.
As I write I am tucking into some chocolate covered raisins which are disgusting. I thought they were chocolate covered peanuts. That’s a bad feeling, and yet I keep eating.
Alice and Jo are working on a new american show called Glee and also they have started up an after work salsa class which I am interested in too. Not salsa the dancing, salsa the stuff you put in burritos.
Brett has offered to do a guest spot on the breakfast burrito – his own take on this classic dish. Mmmm.
This is getting off the point of work but it all helps to paint a picture I’m sure.

Monday, Monday 4Creative
I have been lucky enough to meet some cool people these past few days.
Jason Holroyd who has been in designing some motion graphics work for a super secretive pitch that is still going on now. Jason is from Nottingham and does cool work out of his studio/massage grotto. Have a look at his Bob Dylan video on youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNZuTWikSXw
Also the Superfad boys who have been loitering about with their beards and expensive footwear. I have had some very good advice from both groups, mainly about scarves and whether it’s OK or not to wear boat shoes still. Most think it is not OK.
Been in an edit over the weekend on 3D season and if I see another pair of 3D glasses (I was used as guinea pig for all cuts and one of my eyes has swelled up to twice its usual size and my left profile is now that of a guppy – no joke) I will be angry. Doctors assure me it will go down in time but one of the weird side effects is that now I see EVERYTHING in 3D. Which is useful.
Joseph and Alex were directing and I’ve never had so much fun on set.
It is about this time in the afternoon that cake seems like an option.
THE INTERN respects you.

“Blog” entry for October 1
Hasn’t the weather been lovely?
I have been keeping busy and I should say thank you for all the comments that are flowing in. Especially the ones from the Viagra people. You know who you are. I don’t need that stuff. I’m just out of college! I am the wrong target audience – you can’t just send these messages out willy nilly.
We’ve been busy and I’m just back from helping out on a stills and telly shoot for Misfits (I was also lucky enough to see a sneak preview of the first episode which is excellent). I spent most of the time trying to block the sun out from the shot with a bunch of grips who kept making me do stupid things like to and get a long weight. Very funny boys.
Alice was art directing the shoot and Neil was doing the TV. Both are out soon. Look for good sun blocking work, especially in the stills. (I am will try to upload shots later today).
3D season is also in full swing and we shoot two spots this week which should be good. I’ve been designing some 3D glasses with Kevin the designer which are looking fairly rad. They’ll be out soon so grab a pair and think of us when you wear them. There’s a lot of love that’s gone in to them there shades.
Also on the go: Two external pitches that I am not allowed to know about. If I did know about them I couldn’t talk about them on the blog. People are looking excited though and talking about foreign adventure, which seems cool.
Joseph’s ear is getting better.
Emily&Leo and Ita are just back from shooting a spot for Impulse which sounds like fun. They’ve been hanging out with bands and having a ball all in the name of a cool new campaign.
I was not invited, even though I have the skinny jeans and pointy shoes.
I have been eating BLTs this week. They really are good. There is a common saying here at 4Creative that there is very little that isn’t improved by being wrapped in bacon. It’s a good life philosophy.
Sorry for any typos, I am in a hurry. Misfits photo edit happening right now.
Take care and wrap it in bacon.

Bestival – the come down.
We had a good time. We have just recovered. Here are some shots, including Alice working on storyboards for a new campaign for True Blood.
I have to say that everyone treated me very badly and made me do things I wouldn’t normally have done, like get a haircut/tattoos and all that stuff.
It was cool apart from that and being asked to go and find a photocopier at 4AM when they were trying to put a document together.
Best band? No idea, I was kraft-working too hard.
Got stuck in 10 hour long jam on the way home and got travel sick. We met some good people, including Vince Vaughn who – when Lynsie asked him to speak to her sister on the phone – said “please leave me alone”.
Watched Jamie’s American Road Trip on the telly last night and thought it was pretty excellent and felt proud to have worked with him in Stanstead airport in chaps. Him, not me.
Other good stuff happening at 4Creative at the moment: 3D cameras. Inline skates. Chocolate. Short films. Ben writing comedy promos for Misfits. Gwil learning to do close up card magic.
The end for today.
Thanks to Bill Bartmann for telling us how cool the blog is. Bill, this is kind. I hope your how to become a millionaire site is going well. How do you become a millionaire without doing bad things?

Lost Shoes
Olivia one of our business directors lost both her left shoe and her right shoe while demonstrating her moonwalk at Campaign Photo last night. They are red and expensive is all she can tell us. If anyone has them please let us know. She is having to wear espadrilles in the meantime.
On a happier note I hear that we were finalists in a couple of categories with work from Dan Pothecary for China’s Stolen Children, Tim Simmons for Lost for Words and Dean Rogers for Red Riding. We won in Media & Entertainment for the Skins 2 campaign by Simen Johan working with Alice.
Who is now on her way to Bestival and probably is blissfully unaware. Nice one Alice, see you there.
Joseph is back from skidoo-land. He has fractured his entire ear – the footage of the crash though is amazing. Will try to get him to post it here.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading.
The Intern (hopefully not for long)
P.S. People are stealing my ideas.
Joseph fractured his toe
SKINS 2 WON THE MEDIA & ENTERTAINMENT CATEGORY! Yeah!

4Creative at Bestival
NEARLY FORGOT! !
How COOL is this? We are ALL going to be working from Bestival this weekend. Brett just said what the F&*$ yesterday (he actually said it like that – it sounded totally weird) pack your sleeping bags we’re all going.
So if you see a bunch of directors and writers and producers hanging out in an old Airstream caravan (it has an old mikebeer stencil on the side) come and say hello. Best Job Ever.
I will mainly be in charge of fetching drinks. But hey, I’m not complaining.
Ed has asked that we bring a portable shower. More from Bestival later! Woohooooo!

Derren Brown in Metro
Salut,
Well, I’ve never been as excited to pick up a copy of Metro before. See the little crossword gag at the back of today’s copy? This is my first published bit of work. I helped Leo and Emily (creatives, young clever, good with words and pictures and that kind of thing) on all the clues and the hardest ones I think you’ll find are mine. Legerdemain will be my finest moment in print so far – if this makes no sense, check the questions..!
Also check out Alice’s teaser promo for the lottery show. It’s weird and who would have thought Derren was such a good juggler.

More work going on for promotion of 3D season and yesterday we all had to wear the glasses. One person who shall remain nameless was sick – seemingly unable to deal with the world in 3D. The ads look like they could be cool and I am in the middle of watching every weird and wonderful 3D movie I can get my hands on. All in the name of research of course.
Watch this space for more developments on that front.
Joseph is on holiday skidoo racing on a glacier.
Until the next time.
